There’s no better way to kick off the Bank Holiday than with a classic village get‑together - and this year’s event promises all the charm, competition, and community spirit we love.
We’re bringing everyone together for a friendly cricket match, an inter‑village tug of war, children’s games, delicious treats, and plenty of laughter. Whether you’re taking part or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a day designed for all ages.
🪢 Inter‑Village Tug of War:
12:00pm – Tug of War
Contact Zoe if you’d like to join.
Open to all enthusiastic pullers - no experience needed, just spirit.
This will be the last event before our short break, so let’s make it a memorable one.
🏏 Friendly Cricket Match – Players Needed (Age 11+)
After the rope‑pulling dust settles, we head straight into our traditional village cricket match.
1:30pm – Cricket Match
Open to anyone aged 11+
New players, seasoned players, and “haven’t‑played-in-years” players all welcome.
If you’ve ever fancied stepping onto the pitch, this is your moment.
🍰 Food, Drinks & Treats
No village event is complete without something tasty. Throughout the afternoon you’ll find:
A well‑stocked bar and refreshments
Teas, cakes, and children’s treats
A raffle with some brilliant prizes up for grabs
Bring your appetite - and maybe a little luck.
🎈 Fun for the Kids
We’ve planned plenty to keep younger visitors smiling:
Hook‑a‑duck
Treasure hunt
Lucky dip
Games and activities throughout the day
It’s a perfect family afternoon out.
🤝 Volunteers & Donations Welcome
Events like this thrive because of our wonderful community. If you’d like to help out — whether baking a cake, running a stall, or lending a hand on the day - we’d love to hear from you.
